Janusz Morgenstern urodził się w 1922 r. w Mikulińcach k. Tarnopola. Od lat jest nie tylko reżyserem, ale również producentem filmowym. Ukończył Wydział Reżyserii PWSF w Łodzi. Jest twórcą wielu doskonałych filmów oraz tak popularnych seriali jak Kolumbowie, Polskie drogi, Stawka większa niż życie. Asystował m.in. przy realizacji filmów Andrzeja Wajdy: Kanał, Popiół i diament, Lotna. Jako samodzielny reżyser zadebiutował w 1960 r. filmem Do widzenia, do jutra. Za swą wieloletnią działalność otrzymał wiele prestiżowych nagród, m.in. w 1977 Nagrodę Ministra Kultury i Sztuki I stopnia za filmową twórczość telewizyjną oraz w 1991 Nagrodę Przewodniczącego Komitetu Kinematografii dla producentów filmowych.

Janusz Morgenstern was born in 1922 in Mikulińce near Tarnopol. He has worked for years not only as a director, but as a producer as well. He graduated from the Directing Department of the National Film School in Łódź. He has created many great films and popular series. He was an assistant director in different films including those by Andrzej Wajda: Canal, Ashes and Diamonds, and Lotna. His own directorial debut was the film Good Bye, Till Tomorrow in 1960. His long-lasting creative activity has won him many prestigious prizes, including the 1st grade award from the Minister of Art and Culture for TV films in 1977 and the 1991 award for film producers from the President of the Cinematography Committee.
