Spirala przemocy nakręca się coraz mocniej, aż zaczyna dusić wszystkich bohaterów. Tylko autor mógłby ją powstrzymać. Dario Argento „popełnia” prawdziwy rekord – 13 morderstw w jednym filmie – a zabójcza dłoń w rękawiczce, zgodnie z tradycją, znów należy do niego. W wyrafinowanej grze metafilmowej reżyser sięga po hiperbolę, powracając do stylu wczesnego okresu giallo, lecz jednocześnie wciska gaz do dechy. Rezultat jest zaskakujący i przerażający. Dla niektórych nie jest to jedynie gatunkowa rozrywka w wielkim stylu, lecz film „cerebralny” i teoretyczny, niemal kliniczny – esej o sztuce opowiedziany za pomocą narzędzi samej sztuki. Trzeba zobaczyć, by uwierzyć.

For some viewers, this is not merely grand genre entertainment but a cerebral, almost clinical work – an essay on art told through the tools of cinema itself. It has to be seen to be believed.
