Vancouver, Canada: a city full of cars and traffic jams, inhabited by people who have learned to navigate it on their own terms. Working at full speed, weaving between cars, alleycats, bike polo, late-night parties, friendships, rivalries, injuries and life on the edge of financial survival. Here, the bicycle is simultaneously a working tool, a means of transport, a sport and a way of life.
The film captures both the freedom and the remarkable bond within the courier community, as well as its less romantic side: exhaustion, danger, low pay and the knowledge that, one day, its members will have to leave this world behind. Made by couriers, about couriers, it offers no embellishment and makes no attempt to fit their lives into a convenient narrative.
Today, Murder of Couriers is more than a documentary about bike messengers. It is a time capsule – one of those films that managed to capture the energy of urban cycling culture in the early 2010s. Rather than observing the cycling world from the outside, it takes us straight into the heart of the pack, revealing why, for its protagonists, the bicycle meant so much more than simply delivering a package.

Poslednii Prokol to portret mołdawskiej sceny rowerowej. Film powstał z potrzeby pokazania ludzi, którzy jeżdżą po Kiszyniowie, choć doskonale wiedzą, że miasto nie jest bezpieczne ani przyjazne rowerzystom. Mimo to nie rezygnują z pasji.
Dokument przedstawia historie osób walczących o swoje miejsce w miejskiej przestrzeni i bezpieczną infrastrukturę, a przy tym zachowujących czystą radość z jazdy i każdego kolejnego dnia w ruchu.
Narzekacie na brak ciągłości niektórych dróg rowerowych? Zobaczcie świat, w którym brak infrastruktury jest codziennością, a walka aktywistów o bezpieczeństwo na drodze – koniecznością.

Poslednii Prokol is a portrait of Moldova’s cycling scene. The film was born out of a desire to show the people who ride through Chișinău despite knowing that the city is neither safe nor welcoming to cyclists. Still, they refuse to give up their passion.
The documentary tells the stories of people fighting for their place in the urban landscape and for safer cycling infrastructure, while holding on to the pure joy of riding and spending another day in motion.
Do we complain about gaps in our cycle lanes? This film takes us into a world where the complete lack of cycling infrastructure is an everyday reality – and where activists’ fight for safety on the road is a necessity.
